The best of the bay dinning

Soi4 is going to turn the East Bay's idea of Thai food on its head. Actually, the stylish restaurant on College Avenue in Oakland already has. Waits on the weekends are common, and lunch can be packed.

The pad Thai may be ho-hum, but shrimp curry, short ribs in kaffir panang curry, and the assorted vegetable curries are outstanding.
